With the Bird of Prey Full Day experience in Herefordshire, you'll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with these incredible birds, learning about their habits and histories whilst watching them soar above your head and land gracefully on your arm. The full day experience begins on arrival at the centre, where you'll greet your friendly guides and be shown around the aviaries. Throughout the day you'll have the opportunity to hold a wide selection of birds, including Eagle Owls, Harris Hawks, Peregrine Falcons, Buzzards, Snowy Owls and more. You're welcome to take as many pictures as you like - these birds of prey are highly trained and comfortable with human contact, and with your guide at your side you know you're in safe hands. Following the handling, you'll get the chance to actually fly the birds! After a brief demonstration, you'll be shown how to fly the birds free from all restraints, meaning they'll perch on your arm before launching into the air and swooping back down again. The full day experience also involves a Hawk Walk, where you'll follow a brook listening to your guide explain all there is to know about hawks, whilst one circles you from above! Your guides are experts in their field so be sure to ask them any questions you can. The full day experience also includes a delicious lunch, making this the ultimate experience for budding ornithologists, or those who love to try things that are a bit different.
