This introductory steam train driving experience in the heart of Yorkshire for one person is perfect for train and locomotive enthusiasts alike! The Elsecar Heritage Railway, an esteemed heritage steam railway, is offering visitors the experience of an hour’s drive in one of these classic full-size heritage steam engines. Learning to drive an engine that would have been used by the National Coal Board to haul coal trains on the line, you will have the opportunity to crew the engine and learn the vital roles of the drive and fireman whilst assisted and supervised by a qualified, capable and respected crew.
