Windsurfing is a cross between two of the most popular watersports around, surfing and sailing, and is both physically and technically challenging as well as totally thrilling! However, with correct tuition and modern equipment, you will breeze through this great introductory course. The RYA Level 1 windsurfing course is for people who are serious about learning to windsurf, and on completion you will have a complete understanding of the sport and be able to hire equipment around the world. Windsurfing is a great way to get into shape and enjoy yourself, once you’ve experienced the adrenalin pumping as you take on pounding waves, you won’t look back!During this two day course, you will cover all the fundamentals of windsurfing, , teaching you the basics of getting on the water and sailing the board across the wind and back. The course will cover being introduced to the board and rig, simulator work on land, balancing and rig handling techniques, learning how to control upwind and downwind windsurfing, safety and self-rescue techniques. With qualified instructors to help at all stages, learning the first steps will be an exciting and enjoyable experience, and you should be able to capably sail an area by the end of the course and be ready to move your skills on. Once you have completed the R.Y.A. certificate you will receive a logbook and handbook.
