Rally Driving Experience Days: If you've always wanted to live life in the fast lane then this is for you. This fantastic Silverstone experience gives you the chance to live out your rallying dream at one of the world's most famous motorsport centres. You can even share the experience with a friend if you'd prefer as you split the driving time between you. The rally school at Silverstone has been established for over 25 years and this half-day course is perfect for all different levels and abilities. Your professional instructor will simply tailor your experience to your driving standard. You will receive professional tuition back in the classroom before getting behind the wheel of the Ford Escort MK2 – voted the world's greatest rally car by the British Rally Forum in 2006 – to put your newfound driving skills to the ultimate test.Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a cup of coffee and an informal meeting with your instructor for the day. Here you will discuss the safety regulations and the principles of Rally techniques and car control. Your objectives for the experience will be set and discussed here, based on your previous experience. (Don't worry if you've never driven a Rally Car before, the instructor will tailor the experience to your requirements). Then, it's time to get out there on the special stage and get practicing! The instructor will begin by taking you around the track, demonstrating the racing lines and driving techniques. After all of this theory it's your turn to get behind the wheel and start practicing some power slides, handbrake turns and pendulum slides. With the expert instructor at your side, you are sure to gain the best advice and hands on tips for improving your driving skill. The authentic gravel provides a perfect representation of how the pros do it, and this is your chance to test yourself and improve those skills! After two and a half hours of one-to-one tuition it's the turn of the instructor to show you how it's done, when he takes over for a 'hot seat ride', where he'll show you the capabilities of the Ford Escort MK2, and why it was voted the world's greatest rally car (by the British Rally Forum 2006). The day will be complete with a debrief of your achievements with regard to your objectives, and the presentation of your 'Rally Solo' certificate. Please note, this experience can be split between 2 people if required, with each getting 50% of the original time.
